Financial Feasibility for Water Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia

Assessed the viability of a sustainable water infrastructure model in Saudi Arabia through market analysis, consumer behavior assessment, and scenario-based financial modeling. The project enabled stakeholders to evaluate adoption potential, investment attractiveness, and long-term commercial sustainability.

Overview & Scope

Our team developed a commercial and financial feasibility assessment for a proposed sustainable water infrastructure system in Saudi Arabia. The project was intended to support long-term resource efficiency objectives while evaluating whether a new tap water model could be commercially attractive and financially viable within a large-scale development context.

A key part of the engagement focused on understanding consumer demand across both bottled water and tap water categories. This included analyzing consumption behavior, pricing expectations, distribution models, and the extent to which the new infrastructure could influence substitution patterns between existing and proposed consumption options.

To support investment decision-making, we built a multi-scenario financial model covering capital requirements, operating costs, revenue assumptions, adoption pathways, and projected returns. The analysis highlighted key sensitivities, breakeven points, and the conditions required for the project to deliver sustainable value over time.

The final output provided stakeholders with a clearer basis for evaluating the opportunity, balancing market attractiveness with financial realism and supporting more informed planning around implementation and long-term viability.
